Hello Poppy, long time since we spoke last. No, Blue thunder is off to a new but temporary home. She had to go. Fed up her spending my money and staying in the garage, and me not getting the pleasure of her company.

Still have the other two.

Road tax was due plus Blue Thunder needed a major service and the boot was becoming a swimming pool. Having advertised on eBay, Pistonheads and various forums. No interest worth talking about. I needed to sell.
Having spent over £2400 on Blue Thunder in mechanical repairs plus insurance, road tax and tyres and routine servicing.

I approached James Bull of Elite Cars. We had a long chat and he made me an offer subject to a road test.

I drove down last Friday and the air bag light come on, then the Sat Nav shut down due to water ingress. James drove the car and was happy with what he had bought. I was happy to see Blue Thunder go to a new home. We shook hands and I parted with the dosh. James then gave me a lft to the station in Blue Thunder. Was wonderful to hear that Mustang powered car pulling away.

When is a good time to sell? People are saving up for Xmas then paying off the credit cards. Then people are saving for a nice holiday afterwards paying off more credit card bills. Then people are saving up for Xmas. In between there are other bills to be paid. So I sold when I could.

But I was glad to own a true classic. Never know one day I buy another. But I have 2 other special MG's to keep me happy.

He parted with the WHAT? ImageImage

Image Call me old fashioned, Fred, but between you and me Image that does not sound like a particularly good deal to me.

And I'm not missing Blue Thunder. If anything it feels a great weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
