One for all the electronics guru's out there.
I have a doubl;e din Dynavin dvd unit, the DVD player stopped working a while back but tbh, i found it just as easy to load stuff onto the memory cards and listen and watch stuff that way, any way, i decided to take the lid off and take a peek inside, the dvd unit is a hop-1200w-b and the disc doesnt spin up when inserted so i am assuming it is the pick up that has gone.

Is it a straigh transplant when i get a replacement, i found this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191388759382? ... EBIDX%3AIT

so i would assume that once i change this, it should spin up n work

I have recently sorted out my non disc reading, in my 2nd hand Ex radio Guy unit by replacing the laser with one of these.

laser

A bit fiddly to put in, but works very well..

Was going to get a whole unit as it would seem easier , but could only find suppliers in China at the time .
so went for a UK supplier..

I think the HOP Units seem to vary slighly in their layouts .. so best to check the pictures to get exactly the right one ;-)

ahh thats ok then as i just placed the lens onto the original assy and used the original ribon so was good there, was a fidly job but its now installed, loading is a little temperamental as i think i disturbed something on the top pressure plate but representing the cd seems to work with a wiggle, apart from that, looks like its working ok, i found a place where you can purchase the dvd loader on the net for $30 delivered so i think it's worth the investment
