I have been toying with the idea of installing a dedicated radio aerial, would this be better than the rear wind screen one,

Well that was a bust, the new aerial arrived yesterday so I hobbled out to the car on my crutches to install it, took the stereo out, semi fitted it in place, to find reception was worse lol, so left it as it was, well a. Least it got me out of the house for half an hour (mgrclub)

Try cleaning the interior of the rear screen. I remember somebody had a problem with crackles, cleaned the rear screen and the crackles disappeared.

Window cleaner and be careful you don't damage the elements-- no hard rubbing.

Lots of information on the MGZT Rover 75 OC regarding reception and rear window cleaning.
